Tips to get your boat in your garage or shed and start saving storage fees today ...
- Boat & Trailer Height Clearance Problem:
- Lower bunks to sit on trailer cross-members (we saved 4" on our test boat),
- Put axle on top of leaf springs
(axles are typically below the spring - this gains about 4 inches, but you might have to move or remove the fenders),
- Replacing leaf springs and axle with torsion axles usually saves about 2 inches,
- Try smaller diameter tires,
- If you just need an inch, let some air out of your tires (down to 8psi) - but DON'T forget to refill before you trailer!
- If your boat and console would fit,
but your windshield grab rails miss by 2-3",
you can try lowering the rails (and possibly the windshield) on the console.
- Trailer Length:
- Shorten the tongue 6" to 18" and re-install the receiver,
- Install a Fulton Bolt-On Fold-Away Trailer Tongue Hinge Kit - saves 34 inches!

- Put trailer in garage backwards at an angle (using winch or motorized cart),
- Build (ugh) clearance in the back wall of the garage.
- Top Height:
- Install a T-Topless or Shadow - it lowers below your center console's windshield height,
- Rigid T-Top won't fit,
- Bimini top is ugly, short and straps are in the way.
